Sponge Rollers

About a month ago Eliza wanted curly hair. I told her when I was a little girl my mom would put my hair in rollers and I would sleep in them then wake-up curly. I must've said that we should get some. Well, she's been begging me since to buy her some. So, on Saturday we invested in sponge rollers! I put her hair up after her bath on Saturday night while she watched a movie. the results on Sunday morning were perfect!!!! :)

Sam had an extra fun birthday with the day off for President's Day! Eric took the day off, and Grandma & Anna were here for a visit. They went sledding, played Wii, watched movies, and had French Toast for breakfast! All his favorites!!

Sam really wanted a Star Wars t-shirt....he was so excited!

Last night we celebrated at Aunt Mary's with my family and all of his cousins. Such a fun night!!! Sam requested pitaschio cake....YUM!!! A true family favorite! We were all very excited that he chose it! :) And I loved making it!!!!

Valetine Day Parties!

Okay, so I haven't posted for a LONG time. It kinda got to the point where I wasn't even sure where to start. Do I go back? Or do I just start from the here & now? I'm think the here & now! :)

first bike ride

Caroline had her first bike ride tonight when we all went to DQ for ice cream after dinner. Sam rode his bike, and the twins rode in the bike trailer. I'm sure this will be the first of many bike rides this summer!!! She loved it!

Eric decided to dress Caroline up this morning. She didn't seem to mind!

Caroline is 11 months now and has 12 teeth!! Only a few more weeks and we'll be having a birthday party for her! Crazy how fast this year has gone.

sam turns six

This weekend we had a few birthday parties for Sam. A small friend party with a few kids from the neighborhood on Saturday morning, a party with my family today after church, then another tonight with Grandpa, Gramma, & Aunt Hope.

We had a "Donut Party" yesterday. Sam loves donuts from Tim's Bakery, and I was looking for a simple party theme. So, complete with "Pin the Donuthole on the Donut" game and the "Donuthole Toss" (aka, tossing little bean bags into a pool intertube), it was a very easy party!! Oh, and Uncle Ben did his famous balloon art....always a huge hit with kids!

For Sunday's party, Sam insisted that I make the same farm cake I made for his 3rd birthday. That was fine with me because that's a yummy cake from scratch, and very easy to decorate....actually, Sam & Lora were the ones to decorate it.

toe jam

Yes, you read it correctly......toe jam. Eliza is obsessed lately with her toe jam. And, if she sees any of us (including Caroline) without socks, she quickly tries to clean between our toes. Of course, I do NOT let her clean mine!!!!!!! YUCK!! The boys (including Eric) don't seem to mind. WEIRD!! A funny story for the future though! :)

A friend & I decided to try making these dresses for our girls. It was definitely a trial & error kinda project....no pattern, just the idea in our head. I think they turned out so cute! Now, if I can just make one for Caroline.

Wow, it's been a long time!!!!!!!! Here's a few pictures from August...

Sam started Kindergarten!! He hesitantly loves it! :)

Ethan is as goofy as ever, with a very contagious belly laugh!

Eliza, oh Eliza! Not even sure what to say. We love that girl!!!!!Caroline turned 3 months, and is such a happy baby! Her blue eyes and long eyelashes are sure to win everyone's heart!!!!
My mom, Caroline, & I were able to go see my Grandma Mary in Florida for 5 days! (Thanks to the help of Eric's mom and a few neighbors!) We had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No dishes

Last night, while getting dinner, I was cutting up a watermelon. Well, the watermelon decided to roll and I sliced my finger instead. So, it was off to the doctor's office. It was decided right away that "it needs to be fixed." I've never had stitches before, and this isn't a great time for them. The doctor decided to do DermaBond instead - which is basically just super glue. Then, he also decided that I needed a tetanus shot. This morning my left index finger and my left arm are both VERY sore!!! (I'll spare you any pictures...it's not pretty!)

But, no dishes for a little while! :)

4th of July weekend

We're still here, still in need of sleep, but surviving! Last weekend we were with my family for lots of activities. Here are the pictures...
I made raspberry pie....with 3 little helpers!

My Aunt Lee took the kids for a ride in her school bus. This was a huge hit!!

The kids loved playing outside at my sister's house, while Eric enjoyed taking pictures of them and the sunset. He's still trying to figure out our camera.

We celebrated Uncle Dick & Aunt Joan's 50th wedding anniversary.
